Best known for his intricate figurative sculptures made up of dot-like paint drops, Chris Dorosz has always been interested in deconstructing and reassembling images in a way that challenges our visual assumptions. Seeming to materialize while floating in space, his fascinating groupings address spatial concerns diffuse the pictorial plane into pure drops of color.
Born in Canada, where he earned his master’s degree at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Chris Dorosz now makes his home in San Francisco. His work has been exhibited widely in Canada and throughout the United States, including a solo exhibition at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art in California. He has been featured in Elle Magazine and Canadian Art Magazine, among other publications.
