Jill Greenberg is an American photographer whose mastery of digital media and studio lighting have earned international acclaim. Greenberg is best known for End Times, the controversial 2006 series of photographs featuring crying toddlers which reflected her frustration towards the US political climate. The artist is also recognized for her emotionally charged animal portraits and distinct, stylized photography of celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clint Eastwood. In reference to her work Greenberg states “They’re portraits and they’re personal but there’s a little twist going on. An edge.”
Greenberg’s photographs have been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums such as Fotografiska, Stockholm, Sweden; Museo De Arte Contemporanea, Rome; the Annenberg Foundation for Photography, Los Angeles, CA and the National Academy of Sciences, Washington DC to name a few.
