Much like Monet, Warner Friedman is a painter of light. Friedman, however, carefully constructs every angle of his paintings, from the irregularly shaped surfaces to the angled three-dimensional view that deftly capture a sliver of nature as seen through stationary architectural elements. Teasing the eye, Friedman’s serene landscapes masterfully combine illusion with reality as they seductively lure the viewer into meditative reverie.
Warner Friedman lives in Sheffield, Massachusetts, a town whose quaint charm provides a constant source of inspiration for the artist. He has been widely exhibited throughout the United States, most notably at the Wadsworth Athenaeum in Hartford Connecticut, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC, the Fort Lauderdale and the Boca Raton Art Museums in Florida.
